SMA’s Quality Policy Statement
SMA’s Quality Policy Statement: The Spectrum Management Authority is committed to providing quality service to all stakeholders in the regulation and management of the radio frequency spectrum in Jamaica. This is accomplished through the on-boarding of professionally trained staff, fit for purpose resources to include state of the art equipment and technology, and an effective management system that is continually improved and is responsive to the needs of government, customers, and the wider public. In its pursuit of service excellence, the SMA seeks to meet the requirements of stakeholders, statutory and regulatory bodies (local and international) and all relevant standards.
To Achieve of QMS objectives
The SMA will:
Align activities with international best practices and national objectives;
Meet relevant statutory and regulatory requirements and international standards;
Engage with customers and interested parties to understand their challenges and requirements so as to improve products and services and enhance customer satisfaction;

Have competent staff who are motivated to perform at a high standard;
Determine and address risks and opportunities that can impact or enhance the conformity of products and services and the ability to enhance customer satisfaction;
Establish, maintain and continuously improve its management system for delivery of products and services.
SMA’s Quality Objectives
The QMS’s objectives provide a clear direction to achieve our vision and strategic outcomes as set out in the current Corporate Strategic & Operational Plan. The SMA’s SQM Objectives are described as follows
To deliver radio frequency licensing services that meet the timelines defined in our Service Level Agreements (Processing Times).
To meet the KPI percentage (%) established for the accurate assignment of spectrum, which is free from harmful interference.
To train and develop staff with the knowledge, new skill sets and tools necessary to achieve continued success in keeping with the organization’s strategic training plan.
To collaborate with at least three (3) local and/or international regulatory partners to facilitate spectrum harmonization regulatory partnerships.
To evaluate and continuously improve our services to enhance customer satisfaction, and,
To continually improve performance of the QMS through the conducting of annual internal and external audits.
