Edward Gabbidon
Board Chairman
Edward Gabbidon is a technology executive and corporate governance leader with more than two decades of senior experience across the banking, energy, telecommunications, and ICT sectors in Jamaica and the Caribbean. He serves as Chief Executive Officer of SynCon Technologies Limited, a specialist ICT infrastructure firm providing network architecture, cybersecurity, unified communications, and data-centre solutions to government and private-sector clients, in partnership with global technology principals including Cisco, Dell Technologies, Fortinet and VMware. Mr. Gabbidon has an extensive board portfolio spanning the public, private, and charity sectors. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Spectrum Management Authority Limited and as a Board Member of the Port Authority of Jamaica, where he sits on the Corporate Governance, Finance, and Projects Committees and previously chaired the Audit and Risk Committee. He also holds directorships at the Jamaica Biscuit Company Limited (Jambisco), Privacy and Legal Management Consultants Limited (PLMC), and Christel House Jamaica. He previously served as Chairman of HEART Trust/NTA, during which he led the landmark merger of HEART with the Jamaica Foundation for Lifelong Learning, the National Youth Service, and the Apprenticeship Board the largest restructuring in Jamaica’s public-sector history, which expanded national training reach from 90,000 to over 152,000 Jamaicans annually. His executive career spans senior roles at LIME Jamaica (Vice President, Corporate & SME Sales), Jamaica Digiport International (General Manager), Jamaica Public Service Company, Jamaica Network Access Point, and RBTT Bank. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of the West Indies, Mona, a Diploma in Project Management from the University of New Orleans, and is a FAA-certified commercial pilot.
